NYC Newest Attraction Draws International Interest

It’s one of New York’s most 1iconic 2destinations and it’s rolling back to the 1970’s.

These skaters are helping 4bring Motown to Midtown Manhattan.

“I roller skated a lot when I was younger so it’s sort of 5second nature.”

During the holidays, Rockefeller Center is home to the most famous Christmas tree in the country -- surrounded by a winter wonderland of ice skaters. And now Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace keeps it “stayin alive” 6all year round.

“It takes you back to your youth and I think it's so good to, it’s good to do it all together.”

Lorraine O’Brien is visiting from Ireland with a group of girlfriends and when they heard about the 7rink opening, they squeezed it into their trip.

“It’s just really fun.”

The last time they had a roller-skating rink here was at the beginning of World War 2 in 1940. They’re hoping this time, the tradition 8rolls onfor decades to come.
