Meet Adam, an 1entertaining robotic bartender and 2barista being developed at Richtech Robotics right here in Las Vegas. At the present time, Adam can perform tasks - things like creating a perfect cappuccino.
“Your 3order is completed.”
Steps away... another Adam is being taught - or programmed - how to pour 4craft beer. But going forward... Richtech says artificial intelligent cameras will transform Adam from repeating sequences to adapting to its environment.
“It would be able to detect faces so that it can take orders 5vocally. Right now, all of our orders are processed on just like a tablet, but eventually the customer will be able to talk with Adam and put in an order there.”
So, while Adam may have been one of the stars of the show at the recent Bar & Restaurant Expo... Richtech says it has thousands of customers worldwide using the services of other types of robots.
Maitre D... to deliver drinks and meals to tables. The UV Guardian... used to 6disinfect rooms. Richie... the 7tuxedo-clad hotel delivery robot for room service. And Dust-E... which vacuums, mops and disinfects floors. They use technology like AI cameras and 8LiDar to perform the tasks and even stop to avoid colliding with anything that might cross their path like this robot dog, tentatively named “Chip.”
“Their service and entertainment is really the, the driving factor for why robotics will be adopted so quickly.”
That adoption... or acceptance... according to Richtech executive KC McCreery... will 9accelerate over the next ten years. So what does that mean for the human workforce?
“Displacement isn’t even in our thoughts of, you know, robotics 10evolution.”
