US Support for Ukraine Stumbles
우크라이나에 대한 미국 지원, 흔들려
Amid an increasing 1civilian 2death toll in Ukraine, come possibly 3mixed signals from the US. In the Senate -- a plan to send aid to Ukraine has 4rare 5bipartisan support.
“6For heaven’s sake, let’s get Ukraine funding done 7ASAP.”
“They need this help right now.”
But, the chamber’s unlikely to vote on the bill until next week. Lawmakers are working to 8bypass Senator Rand Paul’s request for an 9oversight 10amendment. Another mixed signal involves Finland. Its President says he and the Prime Minister want their country to join NATO.
“Finland is a regional security provider and would further 11strengthen NATO as a future ally.”
“The United States would support a NATO application by Finland and our Sweden, should they choose to apply.”
But, the Biden administration isn’t voicing the same support for Ukraine’s membership.
“It show the 12double standard of the all… 13alliance.”
NATO allies 14have an obligation to 15defend each other. Sending alliance troops to Ukraine could start World War Three.
