White House Focuses on Economy as Prices Keep Rising

물가가 상승하는 가운데, 백악관은 경제에 주력해

The Biden White House says fighting inflation is a 1top priority.

“We can do that from a 2position of economic strength because of the historic 3recovery that we have seen, strongest job market 4rebound in modern history, most small businesses created ever during a recovery.”

In his 5op-ed for the Wall Street Journal this week, President Joe Biden listed numerous proposals aimed at 6boosting the US economy which include improving infrastructure and lowering the cost of child and elder care.

“The good news is that some of them we can do directly with our Executive authority.”

But some of those presidential plans will need congressional support and that could be an 7uphill battle.

“We are gonna have to 8squeeze this inflation down, get past the problem, frankly, created by this all-Democratic government insistent on dumping 2-trillion dollars on the economy.”

And as the 2022 9midterm elections 10loom Americans are struggling with price hikes.

“Everything costs more. You didn’t need me to tell you that.”

Especially when it’s time to fill up.

“We have a GMC Terrain, a Honda and I haven’t even filled up my Ford truck since prices have gone up so much because I’m just afraid to see what it’s gonna be.”
