Consumer prices are 1soaring and inflation is at a 40-year high. Now is the time to look for even the smallest way to save money. Consumer Reports has a series of steps you can take to help you save on everything from food to gas and even 2appliances.

For food, try and 3stick with 4warehouse clubs like Costco which can offer 5significant savings compared to supermarkets. And look for food 6bargains at 7drugstores and even 8convenience stores. 

And those warehouse clubs also offer you a cheaper gas option versus regular gas stations. Apps like GasBuddy can help 9shave some of your fuel costs as well.

If you’re looking for a new refrigerator, dishwasher or other major appliance you may be able to save in the weeks ahead. Some big-name 10retailers 11misjudged demand and are now discounting the items. And your savings can be even more significant if you bundle a couple of appliances together. Look for deals on TVs, prices have been coming down in recent months.

And with interest rates rising you may be able to score a higher annual percentage yield at banks. An analyst for Bankrate 12predicts some savings accounts could be at 2 percent or higher by the end of the year.
