Every year, the 4crustaceans make the 5pilgrimage from the island’s forest 6plateau down to the sea to 7mate and 8spawn. This year may have been bigger than ever. As experts say, the red crab population has more than doubled in the last five years. The fascinating event captures not only the awe of nature lovers worldwide, but the attention of locals who take great care and preparation to protect the species and its awesome annual wildlife spectacle.
