Acts of Kindness Amid Travel Chaos
여행 대혼란 속에서 피어난 선행
More than music to the ears. Local singer songwriter Sarah Reiwitch hopes it’s 1calming sounds to the soul. When the 2hustle and bustle of holiday travel can be a bit much for travelers like Keith Mcintyre, now getting ready for his fifth night on an airport bench.
“I got to talk to them on the cellphone, you know, Facetime… whatever you want to call it but the worst part was not being able to be with them, and that hurt.”
But that hurt, now turned to 3healing. Over the last few days, Keith has seen more 4acts of kindness than most see in a lifetime.
“A mother and daughter came in and gave me a blanket and pillow and a couple sacks of snacks. This bag down here, a guy who works for Fleet Services for Sacramento County bought this stuff and brought it to me.”
“Stress, 5endless stress. He’s been here all week. You don’t know anybody. How do you… I, I couldn’t imagine.”
Chef Michael Durika hopes to ease some of the stress. The airport brought in Drewski’s Hot Rod food trucks this week, handing out close to a thousand meals to travelers and workers for free.
“It’s what we should all do really, globally, so we should be doing.”
After all, staying in tune with your neighbor. A single act of kindness can go a long way.
“Human kindness, 6compassion, 7empathy. We are all human, we are all people and there, there’s love to go around.”
“It’s just 8overwhelming to know that there are still people in the world willing to do that instead of watching out for themselves and not caring about anybody else.”
