Cows Help Police Apprehend Suspect During High-Speed Chase

Well, we know it all started when the 1officer walked up to the car to talk with the 2driver. But while he was asking him some questions, the driver put it in gear and 3took off. It is hard to know for sure exactly which cow here helped lead police to the 4suspect. Officers in Boom believe it was a group 5effort.
“You can't 6make it up. It's rare and it's pretty cool to see us come out and able to 7take these folks into custody and everybody safe.”
Police say the suspect, Joshua Minton, led police on a 8chase from Boone down highway 421 to Deep Gap, right into the heart of an area of Wattaga county with fields filled with cows.
“She came to the house and told me to keep my door locked.”
Celia Roden says police warned her about the 9manhunt near her farm after, they say, Minton 10ditched the car and ran away. But officers say they got some 11unexpected help from the cows. Officers say the cows followed Minton through a field as he tried to hide from police. We asked Celia Roden, whose family has been farming for decades, that was unusual.
“That's pretty normal with a human in the field. They expect 12feed.”
“So they would go follow that person.”
“That's right.”
