911 Center Gets Therapy Dog

911 센터에 치료견이 생겼어요 

 

When Jesse gets out of the car and walks in this door, she knows she's on the job.

 

“There's a lot of things that go on in this 911 center that are well, as you well know, we talked about it not that long ago. Very 1traumatic and hard.”

 

Jesse is a2 station service dog, a 3rising trend in 911 centers across the nation. She's specially trained to work in a 4public safety setting to offer the kind of support 5dispatchers may not even 6realize they need.

 

“She's the normal that all of the staff 7craves.”

 

8Comfort for dispatchers who talk people through some of their 9worst moments. The idea 10proposed nearly two years ago when Barbara Davidson took over as 11director.

 

“And it was kind of a joke. Barb get us a dog.”

 

The joke, it turns out, started a serious effort to help dispatchers 12cope with stress on the job.

 

“Started getting real curious about him. What would it take?

 

After months of 13research, she found Jesse at K9s For Warriors(American charity and veterans service organization) in Florida. The 14organization saves 15shelter dogs and trains them as service dogs for 16veterans and public safety settings.
