Investigation Into Parachute Plane Crash

낙하산 비행기 추락 사고 조사

This video, captured by cell phone camera, shows a single engine Cirrus Aircraft falling 1at the whim of the winds.

"Unlike a 2parachutist, just a regular parachutist, this one doesn't have any 3controllability. Where you come down is exactly where you come down."

From our king 5 drone, look at the crash site. A wooded area in Bellevue that made for a 4soft landing. The two men inside the aircraft both walked away.

"There is a 5beacon inside of the airplane."

A day later, an 6NTSB investigators are 7on the ground working to 8determine a cause.

"I saw the video of the plane coming down, 9floating down with a chute, and it looked like quite a rough ride."

According to the NTSB, the 10prop plane took off from Renton Municipal Airport around a quarter to five Tuesday afternoon, just minutes into the initial climb, and the pilot 11radioed the tower, reporting engine trouble.

"They were 12cleared to return to back to the airport. However, they just didn't have the 13altitude nor the 14glide distance for it, so they 15elected to pull the parachute."

Around five, the pilot deploys the parachute built into the 16airframe, a feature that, according to Cirrus, the 17aircraft manufacturer, is included standard equipment on all its aircraft.

"I see a pilot that's extremely lucky because there are a lot of power lines just on the other side. There's some 18transmission lines."

With a pilot and passenger safely on the ground, the work begins to determine what caused the reported failure and how to safely remove this downed aircraft.

"Once I saw that it came down, I felt lucky that they got out alive."
