Whoever said good things come in small packages never tried living in our society. I am a female a little under five feet, and it is not easy to be a short person in this world. There are many things that taller people take for granted. Most people do not have to think twice about driving a car, yet small people do. Due to my height I have to sit rather close to the steering wheel in order to reach the peddles. Okay fine, so I have to drive a car with a seat that will move close enough to the peddles in order for me to drive. That really isn't the problem, but when someone is that close to the steering wheel, it can be dangerous. Air bags are supposed to help save someone's life, but if you are short it could destroy your life. So you say fine I'll just get my air bag removed and that will solve the problem, right? Wrong, that is against the law. So all of us vertically challenged drivers have to be extra careful while driving a car with airbags.
As long as I'm on the subject of being short and having a problem with height, what about constantly having your age questioned? I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have been shot down while attempting to buy a ticket for a R-rated movie. I'm 18 and the age to get into R-rated movie is 17, so what's the problem? The problem is that since I am short, people do not usually believe my age. This a pain when I really want to see a movie, but don't have proof of age on me, they won't let me see it. They think that for some reason I am lying about my age, when I'm not. What really ticks me off is when a boy (who I know isn't 17 yet) happens to be rather tall, gets into that movie and I don't.
