It was a fine day for a
picnic. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. Sam and his friends
were going to a jungle to have a picnic there. They brought some
bread, drinks and some cookies.
Along the way, they sang and
joked with one another. After half an hour, they
reached the jungle. They stopped and looked at it
with amazement. The trees were growing luxuriantly. The
leaves were also green, not yellowish at all. The land must be very fertile.
They ran into the jungle
happily. They also shouted heartily. Half
way on the journey, Sam suddenly stopped. He pointed to a waterfall. His friends were very excited. They approached
the waterfall with great eagerness. The
water was crystal clear. They could even see a school of
fish.
Suddenly, Sam said to his
friends, "Why don't we have a rest here? It is so beautiful, I like this
place!"
His friends agreed with him,
so, they sat on the rocks and enjoyed the greenery and
the magnificent waterfall.
After a while, Tandy, one of
Sam's friends felt hungry. He decided to
take out his food which was packed by his mother. Sam also
took his bread out and the rest of his friends followed suit.
While they were eating, they
heard a sound. They wondered what it was. They stopped eating and
strained their ears to hear where it was coming from.
A few minutes later, a monkey
came out of the bushes. Sam was surprised and
dropped his bread to the ground. The monkey ran
towards it and ate the bread hungrily. It looked so cute as it tried to gobble the bread.
Tandy, although hungry,
decided to give his bread to the monkey after
seeing its cuteness. Initially, the monkey was afraid to take the bread. Then, Sam told Tandy to throw the bread to it. Tandy threw it and the monkey caught the bread. Then, the monkey
ate it eagerly.
They smiled. More and more
slices of bread were given. At that time, it was
not only one monkey but five monkeys were already
surrounding them. The monkeys picked the bread and
ate them greedily.
Sam and his friends watched
them eating. Then, he looked at his watch. It showed ten o'clock in the
morning. He told his friends it was time to go as at twelve
o'clock, they would be having tuition. His friends packed their bags
and they left the jungle.
It was their first experience
having a picnic in the jungle. All of them
really enjoyed the picnic and promised to picnic in that
jungle again.
