In society, lying is a common behavior and it is also a part of human nature. We no need to take any classes or call someone to teach us about it. Therefore, honestly already replace by the lying because people only looking out for themselves.  Hence, it is much easier to lie because we want to fix the trouble in our life and to escape the bad consequences. The lies can separate into two kinds, black lies and white lies. Black lies will hurt the people while white lies are protecting others to make them feel better. In short, we are trying to lie because our own reason such as cover the truth, for own selfish gain, run away from punishment or protect others.

For example, for the purpose of late back home, we are lying parents about going to a friend¡¯s house to discuss the assignment until late night. We want to cover the truth so that we do not get in trouble. We scare to tell the truth and will reject by the parents. Hence, we repeat to lie, even though they are not necessary. A person who lies may not have done anything wrong, but would rather not have to give reason to explain it. So, we try to cover the truth in order to avoid our parents worry or restrict our freedom.

Otherwise, many people lie for their own selfish gain such as for self-defense or to present a good image in front of the others. They lie for their own benefit. This is because when we been caught, what can do?  We Lie. For example, some children will lie to their parents about how much of their homework they have done or they praise by the teacher to present a good image. Others, when assignment deadline is coming soon, we always say that we almost done it that group leader asked when the truth is we haven't even started yet. This is because we just looking out of ourselves benefit and to avoid the consequences.

In the order hand, we scare that we have done something that will disappoint others. So, we lie in order to protect others. This lies are call the ¡°white lies¡±. This lies can protect the feeling of the people and means ignoring the truth and no damage comes from the lie. It does not harm anyone. One example of a common white lie is "You so slim!¡±. To some people, a white lie will make them happy and comfort their spirit. They are also from being hurt.

           In addition, when we do the wrong things, one choice to run away from punishment is lie. We scare about the punishment and suffering from the consequences. For example, some parent very care about their children result, if their children did not reach the standard, their parents will punished them. As a result, the children will try to lie their parents the paper haven give back or they change their marks by own. They only want to escape from the punishment.

In conclusion, there are many reasons why people lie. Lies are an evil? It depends on situation. Some people feel that use lying to do the right things is okay, but others think that lying will bring consequences to us.  If not necessary, I agree with tell the truth is much better.
