"Thank you all for joining us."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 9unveiled this new training facility this evening during a ceremony in downtown.
"We're 10thrilled that the Duke and Duchess are here. It's quite an honor for them to be here for the commissioning."
Harry and Megan toured the Warrior Fitness Program West Coast Facility, which will provide 11critical treatment to Navy SEALs and veterans.
"We're finding that the Naval Special Warfare Community needs these specialized services."
The Sussexes also joined a private 12roundtable discussion with active-duty members, veterans, and their families where they discussed the challenges they 13face on and off the 14battlefield.
"This facility is incredible."
Former Navy SEAL Tony Duynstee served as the lead development manager for the program. He says transitioning to everyday life is difficult and says the new program will 15facilitate the process for local service members.
"It's not just physical. It's so much more than that, it's mental health, emotional health. It's bringing people back into community, teaching the right habits starting with the basics like nutrition and sleep."
The program provides those who serve and have served customized service treatments on a 19,000-square-foot gym. This new facility is the first on the West Coast and just second in the nation.
"Since 2017, the Navy SEAL Foundation has already helped over 800 active-duty and veteran SEALs. We're more than doubling the 16output that we can do nationally with this facility."
Duynstee says the support of the Duke and Duchess is a great symbol of international partnership.
