¡°Oh, my gosh. This is, today has been one of those days where you get to come and just not be totally 6immersed in everything that is difficult and 7challenging and 8overwhelming.¡±
The last year has been a 9whirlwind for the Roberts family. One that has 10included months of 11hospital stays and 12rehab treatments for Cooper who is 13paralyzed from the 14waist down.
¡°He is doing really, really good. He is continuing to 15push through the 16physical issues that he's continuing to deal with. But I think 17most importantly, he is continuing to feel the love and support which has been really what we've all trying to focus on."
That love and support on full display at the Highland Park Rec Center, where the rock star and 18founder of the National Wrestling Alliance, Billy Corgan, leading the way to 19raise thousands of dollars for Cooper's medical needs.
¡°My experiences in rock and roll tell me that sometimes having a little bit of fun is the best medicine.¡±
¡°What happened was certainly the worst of what we see in 20humanity sometimes, but this event has been about what the best of what people can do.¡±
And Cooper loving every second of the show with his twin brother and friends by his side.
¡°The fact that Cooper was like there front row and watching us and like, cheering us on, it's a really cool feeling.¡±
All of it serving as a 21reminder of how this 22community is moving forward together.
¡°You don't get to break us. You don't get to take away our life. You don't get to take away our happiness and our joy.¡±
