Kyle Range showed us inside his home, where it's still safe. This is the 2hallway and front door that from the outside, you can't even see up the front 3steps.
¡°Just a 4massive 5cracking noise. And then, you know, 20 seconds later, I came down.¡±
He and his four-year-old son were on the floor playing around six Sunday night when a 6burst of 7high winds 8toppled the tree onto the house. It's more than 110 years old.
¡°I wanted to stand here to give you an idea just how big this 9root ball is. A good nine to 10ft tall and maybe 15ft 10across.¡±
And it fell right on the front room.
¡°Thank God we weren't in there. That's usually where he 11takes a nap.¡±
Kyle's baby boy was with his wife in their back bedroom.
¡°Ceiling 12fell off here. I ran out in the hallway. I came out here, looked and saw the ceiling on the floor. Giant dust cloud. My family's in our bedroom back here. Ran, make sure they were okay.¡±
Tree crews are now cutting away the large branches and the family's 13salvaging what they can and getting a better look at the 14damage, knowing they could have easily been killed.
¡°My nine-month-old was 15napping, and he usually naps in there, and there¡¯s 16cribs in there. There's little play pins completely 17flattened. If it happened at a different time, we could have easily both been in there.¡±
