¡°We were literally five minutes before the race was going off. Had not made a final decision yet.¡±
But race officials still gates a pink light, sending runners off their marks as 10scheduled. And despite a 11shelter in place, issued less than 30 minutes in.
¡°We reminded them all that was a personal decision.¡±
¡°You just had to embrace it. You had to accept it.¡±
Sunday's winning 12Swine say the rain didn't bother them anyway.
¡°I felt like safe out there, knowing that there was a bunch of 13volunteers, like, if I did need to step off or want to step off, they would find me somewhere to go.¡±
¡°We heard lightning pretty early, but we weren't going to let it affect us. I mean, we're out here to finish, so it's exciting.¡±
