Fallon Prinzivalli with Emerald City Comic Con says the Seattle Convention Center Summit Building is a dream.
"... building is fantastic. It is a beautiful building, 1state of the art. When we did the 2walk-through, we really felt like they built this building for us."
Scheduled for its usual time slot in March, the Comic Con is 3bouncing back after the pandemic cancelled 2020 and delayed ¡®21 and ¡®22.
"We¡¯re actually seeing it rise year-over-year, so we just see more people being 4comfortable, wanting to come back. We¡¯re 5anticipatinganother 75,000 this year."
"It means that our, our coffee shops, our restaurants, our hotels, 6retailers they¡¯re all gonna benefit from this."
That¡¯s James Sido with the Downtown Seattle Association. His organization wants to see this convention center do great things for downtown Seattle.
"There¡¯s a little bit of a 7wow factor with this place. This weekend, I think the convention center is gonna 8show off a lot of what downtown has to offer."
James believes Emerald City Comic Con at the Seattle Convention Center is the perfect way to 9showcase downtown Seattle and the 10investment made in this building.
"These are sort of these 11signature events. I think people do make a couple days out of it and I think hopefully we¡¯ll see that 12come to fruitionhere in downtown."
