¡°Your pets can really help you do that. I mean pets, it¡¯s been shown that they bring a greater sense of health and well-being to you.¡±
Holly Sizemore with Best Friends Animal Society says pets can help you keep those healthy 2resolutions. If you want to eat healthier, check with your 3veterinarian on which foods you can share with your cat or dog.
¡°And carrots and apples are great one. Maybe a tiny piece of cheese that may not be as healthy but probably pretty appreciated by the dog.¡±
If moving more in 2023 is your goal, dogs and even some cats can be great 4companions on a walk and can even 5hold you accountable.
¡°And once they get used to a walk they¡¯ll hold you to it. Like, if you walk at the same time every day they¡¯ll usually start to cue you a few minutes before and say I¡¯m ready for my walk.¡±
If you¡¯d like to be more social in the New Year, being out and about with a pet is a great way to meet others.
¡°I think I met about half of my 6neighbors while I was 7walking my dog. And it was so terrific because I think I made friends that I probably wouldn¡¯t have otherwise because it¡¯s such a great 8icebreaker.¡±
Pets can also help 9lower stress in your life.
¡°The joy and 10unconditional love they bring is 11destressing in and of itself, but if you wanna go even a little bit further, you can do things like 12meditation with your pet or maybe even yoga.¡±
