France¡¯s Eiffel Tower Grows Taller ´õ ³ô¾ÆÁø ÇÁ¶û½ºÀÇ ¿¡Æçž CARL AZUZ (CNN 10 ANCHOR): There¡¯s all kinds of work going on in the French capital. Yesterday, we told you about 1reconstruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Today, we¡¯re 2explaining how the Eiffel Tower just got taller. Until this week, the Parisian 3landmark 4measured around 1,063 feet from the 5base to the 6tippet top. Now, it stands at 1,083 feet and a new antenna is the reason why. The tower was 7originally built for a 8World¡¯s Fair in 1889. It¡¯s a 9wrought iron 10feat of engineering that also 11commemorated the hundred-year anniversary of the 12French Revolution. And while it got plenty of 13criticism at first with a number of artists and writers calling it an 14eyesore, La Tour Eiffel withstood that to become one of the most famous landmarks on the planet. Over the past century, the tower has been used for radio broadcasts and science experiments. The digital audio antenna that was installed on Tuesday is one of several that have been attached to the top of the tower. So, it¡¯s not the first one that has changed Eiffel¡¯s height. 1 reconstruction Àç°ÇÃà 2 explain ¼³¸íÇÏ´Ù 3 landmark (Áö¿ªÀ» ´ëÇ¥ÇÏ´Â °ÇÃ๰) ·£µå¸¶Å© 4 measure (Ä¡¼ö, ±æÀÌ, ¾ç µîÀÌ) ~ÀÌ´Ù 5 base ±â¹Ý, ±âÃÊ 6 tippet top »ÏÁ·ÇÑ ²À´ë±â, ÷ž 7 originally ¿ø·¡ 8 World¡¯s Fair ¸¸±¹¹Ú¶÷ȸ 9 wrought iron ¿¬Ã¶, ´Üö 10 feat °³°¡, À§¾÷ 11 commemorate ±â³äÇÏ´Ù 12 French Revolution ÇÁ¶û½º Çõ¸í(1789-99) 13 criticism ºñ³ 14 eyesore Èä¹°
