Former Olympic Swimmer Becomes Lifeguard ÀÎ¸í±¸Á¶´ë¿øÀ¸·Î °Åµì³ Àü ¿Ã¸²ÇÈ ¼ö¿µ¼±¼ö The water is Elizabeth Beisel¡¯s happy place. The three-time Olympic swimmer in two-time Olympic medalist, now 1fulfilling a 2life-long dream of becoming a 3lifeguard. ¡°This has been an Elizabeth¡¯s dream since she was 15 and it¡¯s so cool for me to now fulfill that dream because I was always busy in the summer, I was like traveling for swimming, Olympics, World Championships. So this summer was finally the first one that I had pretty open and I remember I reached out to the 4head lifeguard. And I was like, ¡®I¡¯m home, I¡¯ve always wanted to do this, I know I¡¯m a little bit older, but like, is there any way that there¡¯s a 5spot for me on the team?¡¯ And so, went through the interviews, did all the training and here we are.¡± As far as swimming goes Beisel has to be the most 6qualified lifeguard 7on duty at Narragansett Town Beach, but her 8supervisors say she brings way more to the team. ¡°Elizabeth is certainly Olympic swimmer, but even more importantly, just an amazing human being who fits right into our culture here -- 9consummate professional and has 10contributed so much towards leadership and mentorship here in our team.¡± And 11safety is Beisel¡¯s 12top priority as she takes this new summer job with laser focus on the 13task at hand. ¡°This is the most important job I¡¯ve ever had. You know, when I swim in the Olympics, I¡¯m not saving lives, I¡¯m just swimming fast. Here, I show up to work every day and my goal is to keep this beach as safe as possible and that¡¯s just 14embedded into the culture at Narragansett Surf Rescues.¡± Source https://cnn.ybmnet.co.kr/cnn_class/2532
