New Threats As Yosemite Fire Grows Even Bigger ¿ä¼¼¹ÌƼ ±¹¸³°ø¿ø »êºÒÀÌ ´õ Ä¿Áö¸é¼ »õ·Î¿î À§Çùµéµµ »ý°Ü³ª The race is on to protect these 1ancient, 2giant sequoia trees inside Yosemite National Park. The flames of the Washburn fire first entered the 3grove where they live on Thursday. ¡°They¡¯re really close, and they¡¯re right around it. And so what we¡¯re doing right now is we¡¯re doing a combination of [INAUDIBLE] cutting 4fire line, looking at burning out some other areas¡¦ a bit around the giant sequoias.¡± The park says it thinks 5mitigation efforts will protect the trees from major damage. And, part of the reason they¡¯ve survived for 6millennia -- is they can handle smaller blazes. ¡°Mariposa Grove Road¡¦ fire did slap that in the initial attack phases, about fifteen acres south of the road. We do have 7blackline containmentline around that.¡± But, the Washburn fire inside the park has been growing. And, here¡¯s another threat: 8unhealthy air quality -- even in sections of the park that remain open. ¡°So we¡¯re asking people to just be responsible and if someone has, for example, 9respiratory issues to be very careful in hiking and choosing their activities.¡± Today, the smoke could worsen air quality as far west as the Bay Area. Meanwhile, the community of Wawona inside Yosemite is under 10evacuation orders as the fire threatens people and structures there. With so much at risk, the goal is just to 11suppress the fire... ¡°... as quickly and safely as we can.¡± 1 ancient °í´ëÀÇ, ¾ÆÁÖ ¿À·¡µÈ 2 giant sequoia (»ï³ª¹«ÀÇ ÀÏÁ¾ÀÎ) ¼¼ÄõÀÌ¾Æ 3 grove ½£ 4 fire line (ºÒÀÌ ¹øÁö´Â °ÍÀ» ¸·±â À§ÇØ ³ª¹« µîÀ» Á¦°ÅÇÑ ±ä ¶ì ¸ð¾çÀÇ) ¹æȼ± 5 mitigation ¿ÏÈ, °æ°¨ 6 millennia õ³â 7 blackline containment (ÁÖº¯À» ¹Ì¸® Å¿ö ºÒ±æÀÌ ¿Íµµ ŸÁö ¾Ê´Â ¹æ½ÄÀÇ) ºí·¢¶óÀÎ ¹æÀçÃ¥ 8 unhealthy °Ç°¿¡ Çطοî 9 respiratory issue È£Èí±â ¹®Á¦ 10 evacuation (°Á¦ÀûÀÎ) Åð°Å, ´ëÇÇ 11 suppress ÁøÈÇÏ´Ù, ¾ï´©¸£´Ù
