Due to the Ukraine war, the prices of commodities increase, and agencies say that providing help for Africa is becoming too expensive.

According to officials, the worst issue for Somalia is a drought from the changing climate; also, the Ukraine crisis means that the country needs more resources. UNICEF spends $137 million a year on therapeutic food there. Over the past year, the cost of it has risen by 23%, and the Ukraine conflict has created an international food crisis.

According to Nutriset, the company that provides therapeutic food, the cost of ingredients such as palm oil, milk powder and whey increased sharply, and shipping expenses have also rose. Aid agencies say that the problem for Africa¡¯s countries has intensified, as donor countries send money to help Ukraine¡¯s refugees. Without further funding, 600,000 more children may lose treatment.
