The family members are just now releasing the names of the others who were with basketball star Kobe Bryant when his helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California, last Sunday. The crash killed him, his daughter Gianna, a basketball coach named Christina Mauser, a baseball coach named John Altobelli, his wife Keri, his daughter Alyssa, mother Sarah Chester, her daughter Payton, and pilot Ara Zobayan. Everyone was headed to a basketball tournament at Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California; the three daughters were basketball teammates. Mauser left behind her husband and three children, and John and Keri left behind a son and daughter. Difficult words: release (to formally announce something), tournament (a series of games or competitions to determine who is the best), leave behind (to be the friends or family of a person who has died). |
